3D Members - Janeene Streather (Chairperson)
I have been with 3D since 2005 and it has been a great challenge where I have learned something new everyday.
I have enjoyed drama/dance since the age of eight but due to an injury later in life I had to give up dancing.
I was a professional actor for five years touring Great Britain with professional Theatre Companies such as; Greaea, M6 Theatre Company and Cambridge Art Theatre just to mention a few.
I returned to Derby in 2005 and was asked to become a volunteer and share my knowledge and skills with 3D members, which I found very enjoyable and rewarding. Since then, I have become the chairperson and directed 'The Deaf Variety Show' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk' which was very challenging, hard work but worth it.
My first acting role was as an abused wife in 'Secret Silence Shame' and it felt great to have that buzz again. I am now looking forward to the next challenge.
