3D Members - Tony Barlow
I am pleased to have rejoined Derby Deaf Drama after a 3 years absence, traipsing around the British Isles. I was in the Arabian Nights production as a policeman - my first and only outing so far with 3D.
My interest in drama goes way back to when I was a wee toddler with walk-on parts on Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin. My mum was keen amateur drama thespian in our village hall so I get my inspirations from her. At school, I was flying monkey in "Wizard of Oz"; Lieutenant Seaworthy in "Hooray Henry and Horrendous Honeymoon" and finally as Bosun Smee in "Peter Pan". I am also a key member of the trio who made "Skye" - a Deaf Oscar winning short film.
I would like to see 3D branch out their activities into film-making but keeping up the tradition of doing regular shows on community levels. Film-making technology is much more accessible these days so I hope this would fit in well with 3D. The most important thing of all is to have some......FUN!
